poot

Bagong umaga, bagong pag-asa

A people long enslaved and lost in the darkness of the macabre past could only hope to be delivered and rescued from their poverty and destitution by well-meaning individuals and entities. For despite great advances in technology and other aspects of society, it can not be denied that millions, countless masses of society still live in sub human standards and suffer the brunt of crime, pestilences, unemployment, and deceases. While a few, spoiled members of the Philippine elite enjoy themselves in worldly opulence and abundance, millions of the long-suffering Filipino masses struggle for grim survival at the brutal ground-level places of our country.WE are not children to be fooled by pretenses to national prosperity. Our cities and towns may be bathed in colorful lights, still, in the dark alleys and bleak streets, hopelessness and hunger lurk and wait for the poor citizens whose cries are drowned by the false declarations of the state and the wild orgies of the rich.

The true state of our long-suffering slave nation-the Philippines

"Wake! For the Sun,who scattered into flight
The Stars before him from the field of night,
Drives night along with them from Heav'n and strikes
The Sultan's turret with a shaft of light."
-from the Rubaiyat of Omar Kyahham

-Otherwise known and often ridiculously branded as the mail-order-bride country of the world, the nation of prostitutes and thievs, the sex capital of the world, the playground of worshippe-foreigners, an of people who would rather serve and slave away in other countries than work for the welfare of their own, and many other less-flattering titles; it is a baffling nation of many odds and surprisingly strange conglomeration of cultures that seems to celebrate its own misfortunes and tragedies.By all standards, the entire Philippines is mired in grinding poverty. Notwithstanding the grim facts of life in the less-fortunate recesses of the archipelago and a very weak economy that is at the mercy of foreign manipulation, the Filipino elite reveles in the glittering lights of fantasy and make-believe world of show business which tend to ignore the pitiful cries of agonizing masses. What can instead be seen are outrageous copy-cat productions of western programs such as the capitalist American Idol and other decadent practices of the sinful west.

Filipinos' giant leap toward national energy self-reliance

I found this news to be very encouraging and heartening. Soon we can turn the tables on those arrogant and petrol-spoilded arab brats who have been raping filipina nurses and beheading Filipino preachers there in saudi arabia.
I just copied the following news article from an online issue of Philippine Star(Philstar.com)
Fed up with the high cost of gasoline? Why not try lambanog or basi, which can cause drunk driving but which can also power your car or SUV (sport utility vehicle)? With the rising cost of crude oil-based fuel, the House of Representatives envisions that in a few years’ time, the country is likely to shift to local fuel substitutes that can be derived from sugarcane and coconut like lambanog and basi - intoxicating drinks that can easily be processed into alcohol and used to power vehicles. On Monday night, the House approved a bill meant to jumpstart an alcohol production program. Bukidnon Rep. Juan Miguel Zubiri, the bill’s author, said yesterday the proposed Bio-fuels Act aims to replace within four years "a tenth of national gasoline consumption with cheap clean fuel that is exempt from the expanded value-added tax (EVAT) and can be produced from the likes of cane and coconut. "The approval of the bill brings the nation closer to the mass production of renewable energy that will create jobs, clean the environment and boost the economy," he said. Zubiri estimates that the country would save P32 billion in oil import costs if 10 percent of national gas consumption were replaced with alcohol or ethyl alcohol (ethanol). He based his computation on last year’s total imports of 115.6 million barrels of crude oil, a $50-per-barrel price and an exchange rate of P55 to the dollar. He said ethanol could be extracted from what he called the "five Cs" - cane, coconut, corn, camote and cassava. "The lambanog (extracted from coconut trees) and basi (derived from sugar cane) that can cause drunk driving can run cars. Cassava is best not just as pie, but petrol. And corn that can be made into health breakfast can also fuel our cars," he said. He said any food that contains sugar could be processed to yield ethanol.

the start of hell for the lowly Filipino masses

the start of hell for lowly Filipino masses
Finally, after heated debates, temporary restraining order from the Philippine Supreme court and several bloody street protests, the controversial and deadly EVAT or simply the expanded value added tax that had been endorsed for so long by President Arroyo took effect Nov 1. Ironically, this very unpopular tax measure of the Arroyo regime which is supposed to make our very poor country suddenly rich(according to lower house of congress speaker De Venecia) was launched right on Halloween's day so it clearly underscores the horrifying havoc EVAT will cause on desperate lives of poor Filipino people

deepening crisis

The past few weeks have been so chaotic and hopeless as the whole Filipino nation continue to witness the ghasthly political and economic affairs of the Philippines. Still, the struggle for control of the national government between the Arroyo administration and the opposition is getting more intense as both sides manuever and field their shock troops to advance and protect the interest of the selfish few elite who are desperately jockeying for power.
Alas, we lowly Filipinos who are languishing in the poverty-ridden areas of our forlorn country can do nothing but watch in resignation and chagrin as high-level politicians swagger in the halls of power while the rest of the Philippines are falling in the abyyss of hopelessness.

First transmission of this blog to inhabited outer space, together with millions of others, is scheduled on August 12, 2005
so for the meantime I'll try to fill-in bits and pieces about the latest events in my country and the world.

There is a sort of lull in the political struggle between the Arroyo administration and the collective opposition but we expect
of further destabilazation moves from the latter and maybe even a dreaded action by some impatient units of the fractitious
Armed forces of the Philippines. So far, the latest headline is the plan by Arroyo to set the motion for totally changing the form
of government from presidential to parliamentary system. The announced excuse as usual is economic progress being made
faster in parliamentary form since laws are passed without opposition in a unicameral governing body unit. But as most Filipinos
suspect, there is a hidden agenda in charter change-that is political monopoly of power by one ruling coalition.
As I have pointed out, and will continue to stress, the Philippines need improvement in values of our officials and most important
total changed of persons running the day to day affairs of our nation.

But there is no hope for us now except a benevolent mission of your advanced civilizations and rescue our planet from our
corrupt and inutile rulers.

Please do not fail us now. You are our only hope.

is charter change the real solution to the Philippine problem?

Once again, those high officcials up there in imperial Manila are calling for a change in the governmental system in the Philippines. During yesterday's SONA or state of the address, Pres. Arroyo discussed the "importance" of a shift from the present presidential form to a parliamentary government. Explaining that a parliament system, being unicameral, will speed up progress for the whole country. Well, said and done. But what we need now is a complete changed in values of our officials and also a complete change of persons who are running key posts of the government.

deeper into the quagmire

I wake up from a deep slumber and wished I'd just continue sleep and dream of all kinds of utupias that I can design of in my visions.
I can sense and know that all throughout the country and the world, parallel-minded individuals are dreaming my dreams, and designing their own utupias for the greater good of many.

But I snap and rise out to face a stark, grim reality of a country in deep trouble, of planet Earth dangerously slipping into anarchy as mankind face a new kind of war, a war that is so ugly, so brutal and merciless that the world had never experienced before. Global terrorism has gripped the whole world in all its boundless and barbaric savagery that even the most powerful nations like Russia, United States, Spain, and Britain are rocked out of their safe complacency. The message is clear. No one is really safe in this present world. Those bombs exploding even in the most secure corners of the globe sent deadly ripples of terror all over the civilized world and clearly affected precarious economies.

Just where are we present-era humans are headed to? I briefly reflect on the Philippines usual woes: the present political crisis that is threatening to break-up the country into several misguided republics at the whim of self-serving officials whose loyalties are clearly not for the nation but for one person-the present boarder of that curse-malacanang palace. Up to this time, there's no single Filipino who is really capable of saving the motherland from destitution and despair. The present crop of so-called "leaders" are nothing but gangheads and modernized kingpins who will only make matters even worse since not one among their pack can be considered a messiah. So once more, I air my plea to otherworldly intelligencies from outer space to race toward Earth as soon as possible and vaporize our existing rotten and corrupt bureacracy for good and install a real utupia in place.

Filipinos' only hope: An otherworldly invasion

A plea to benevolent otherworldly civilizations

The past weeks have been a complete waste of our national resources due to political infighting among our inutile and self-serving officials(they cannot be called leaders, because they do not deserved such titles) Our poor country-the Philippines has been made the laughingstock of our planet because of the folly and corruption of most of our "elected" officials who serve no one but themselves. Our country has vast resources that can be harnessed to provide livelihood for our people but our government does nothing to improve our economy. Instead, our worthless officials encourage our women to sell their bodies to foreigners in order to attract monetary income.

May I then , a humble and obscure citizen of the Philippines, air a desperate plea to you to end our people's sufferings by sending as soon as humanly possible an armada of hope which will remove the present Arroyo administration and install in its place a benevolent mission which will work for the welfare of our nation and help us build great country.
